Owls - Reception Class

Welcome to the Owl class web-page!

Story boxes

Thank you for all your amazing work on the story boxes. The children are really enjoying sharing them with each other. We are only able to listen to one a day as a whole class so it is taking a while to listen to each one. If your child has not yet completed theirs there is still plenty of time before Easter to bring it in.

Words and reading books

Please try and hear your child read their book and practice the words in the folder every day. We realise this can be very difficult but little and often really helps children acquire new skills.

Sound books

This week will be the last week for new sounds. Your child then needs to learn them and use them in their reading and writing.

PE

PE is now on Thursday mornings. Please ensure your child has their full PE kit in school for the whole week as there may be additional PE sessions.

Library

We visit the school library on a Friday afternoon. The children can choose one book each week to be returned the following Friday.

Speech Bubbles

We are always looking for ways of celebrating your child's achievements but we realise there is not always time to speak to us directly. Please help yourself to the speech bubbles outside the classroom or download them here and let us know of any exciting event or achievement that we can discuss with your child. These can be handed to a member of staff or put in your child's book bag.
