Owls - Reception Class

Welcome to the Owl class web-page!

Week beginning 15th October

This week we will continue to learn and retell the story of 'Goldilocks and the 3 bears'. We will be making porridge and acting out the story. The children have really enjoyed telling the story so far.

Please look out for the photograph of Puffin class in the Slough Observer (Friday 12th edition) on page 51.

Words and reading books

Words should be kept in their book bags for us to check and change. This may happen on different days of the week. Reading books can be placed in the basket in the classroom to be changed alongside their reading record book. Please sign the reading record to say you have read with your child otherwise we may not change their book.

Sound books

Please return sound books on a Monday. We will put the new sounds for the week in their book for you to practise.

PE is on Tuesday mornings. Please ensure your child has their full PE kit in school for the whole week as there may be additional PE sessions.

We visit the school library on a Friday afternoon. The children can choose one book each week to be returned the following Friday.

Rory the class bear

The children take it in turn to bring Rory home each day. Please can I ask that you do ensure you return him everyday as the children look forward to finding out who is next. If you get him on a Friday - lucky you - as you do not have to bring him back till Monday.

Speech Bubbles

We are always looking for ways of celebrating your child's achievements but we realise there is not always time to speak to us directly. Please help yourself to the speech bubbles outside the classroom or download them here and let us know of any exciting event or achievement that we can discuss with your child. These can be handed to a member of staff or put in your child's book bag.
