Owls - Reception Class

Welcome to the Owl class webpage!

June 2018

Please note that Owl class are now doing Forest School.

We had a fantastic time at the Oxford Natural History Museum on Tuesday. Well done to all the children  - you behaved fantastically. Thank you to all our wonderful helpers.

Thank you to all parents who have already given us donations we really do appreciate it. Our June donation is for coloured paper and card.

Maths Bags

We hope you are still enjoying these. If you have any comments about them please speak to any of the Owl Team Staff.

  • In response to parents request to have the maths bags for longer the bags will be given out on Friday and returned by Wednesday
  • In order to better prepare our children for year one we are introducing writing of numerals at an earlier stage and will be sending home white boards and pens for practicing writing numbers correctly.
  • We are aware that there is a variety of levels in the maths bags and please feel able to adapt the activities to the ability of your child.

PE is on Thursday mornings. Please ensure your child has their full PE kit in school.

We visit the school library on a Friday afternoon. The children can choose one book each week to be returned the following Friday.

Abraham the class bear

The children take it in turn to bring Abraham home each day. Please can I ask that you do ensure you return him everyday as the children look forward to finding out who is next. If you get him on a Friday - lucky you - as you do not have to bring him back till Monday.

Thank you for responding so brilliantly in his books. The children love hearing about his adventures and your child has that special time of sharing what they and he have done together with the rest of the class. The children have given him lots of little gifts and I hope that they are all with your blessing. If you are concerned that Abraham has been given something that you would rather he did not have please speak to one of the Owl team.

Please help yourself to the speech bubbles outside the classroom or download them here and let us know of any exciting event or achievement that we can discuss with your child. These can be handed to a member of staff or put in your child's book bag.
