May we take this opportunity to say to all parents/carers of our Nursery leavers, that it has been an absolute privilege to work with your wonderful children this year. They have come so far socially, emotionally and academically, and we are so proud of them, as I am sure that you are. For our four children who have joined more recently, we look forward to working with you again in September, what wonderful children you are.
Numbers of the week
The numbers of the week are 9 and 10.
We will be continuing our traditional “Show and Tell” sessions but we will be focusing on number for show and tell. This has been very successful in previous years and we have decided to do this again this year.
Therefore, we would be grateful if you would make number pictures showing the value of the numbers of the week upon them. This could look like flash cards, (but preferably larger) and should include the numerals too so that your child makes the link between a numeral and the quantity it matches. You could use paint, pencil or collage. We will make a display of your cards to create a learning wall. This will then be a very personal reference point for the children to use.
The focus on Wednesdays continues to be rhyme and therefore on this day the children may bring in two rhyming objects. Please do not bring in number cards on Wednesdays.
Our topic next week will be “Changes”, as we prepare for our Summer break and future transitions.
Suncream, sun hats and water bottles
Please remember to send in a sun hat and water bottle with your child everyday. Please also apply sun cream to your child prior to the start of the Nursery session/s.
Our Nursery Toddle went very well. Have you handed in your sponsor money yet? Mrs Hunt needs to bank the money, so it is vital that this is returned immediately. Thank you for your support with this event, the children really enjoyed it, and did very well.
